Configuring Route Mode

Note: This article applies to ScreenOS 4.0 and higher.

To configure your NetScreen device in Route mode, perform the following steps:

Note: Before performing the following steps, you will need to configure the manage IP to manage your NetScreen-25/50/204/208. For more information on how to configure a manage IP address, go to Configuring a Manage IP Address on Juniper Networks NetScreen Device.

Step one: Open the WebUI. For more information on accessing the WebUI, go to Accessing Your NetScreen Using the WebUI.

Step two: From the NetScreen options menu, click Network, and then click Interfaces.

Step three: From the Trust interface, click Edit.

Step four: From the Interface page, enter the IP Address and Netmask desired for the Trust zone.


Note: For this example, we have entered 192.168.1.1 and 24.

Step five: From Interface Mode, click to select Route.

Step six: Click OK.

Step seven: From the Untrust interface, click Edit.

Step eight: From the Interface page, click to choose Obtain IP using PPPoE, Obtain IP using DHCP, or Static IP.

Note: For this example, we have selected Static IP, and we have entered an IP Address/Netmask of 1.1.1.1/28.

Step nine: Click OK.
