Installing NetScreen-Remote From the CD

Note: This article applies to NetScreen-Remote VPN Client 8.0 and above.

Warning: If you are upgrading to NetScreen-Remote from a previous version, you must first uninstall the previous version. Failure to uninstall the previous version will cause system conflicts resulting in failure of your Windows operating system.

If you are using NetScreen-Remote on a PPPoE line, the PPPoE drivers must be installed first. If you need to install PPPoE drivers, and NetScreen-Remote is already installed, uninstall NetScreen-Remote.

For information on how to uninstall a previous version of NetScreen-Remote, go to Uninstalling Previous Versions of NetScreen-Remote.

To install NetScreen-Remote from the CD, perform the following steps:

Step one: With the NetScreen-Remote installation CD inserted in to your CD-Rom drive, from the Start menu, click Run.

Step two: From the Run dialog box, in the Open text box, enter D:\Setup.exe ( D:\ being your CD-ROM drive letter, Setup.exe being the install file located on the CD), and click OK.

Step three: From NetScreen-Remote Setup, click Next.

Step four: From the License Agreement, click Yes.

Step five: Click to choose the desired setup, and then click Next.

Note: Choose Typical to install the program with the most common options. Choose Express to install the program with all components supported by the current system. Choose Custom to specify which options you wish to have installed.

Note: For this example, we chose Typical.

Step six: Review your Current Settings, and click Next.

Note: Once the installation has completed, your PC will automatically reboot.
