Synopsis

Configuring a Dial Up VPN User

Problem

Solution

To configure a dial up VPN user, perform the following steps:

Step one: Open the WebUI. For more information on accessing the WebUI, go to Accessing Your NetScreen, SSG, or ISG Firewall Using the WebUI

Step two: From the Juniper Firewall menu, click Objects, select Users, and then click Local.

Step three: From the Local page, click New.

Step four: In the User Name text box, enter a User Name.

Note: For this example, we entered vpnuser.

Step five: Click to select IKE User.

Warning: Number of Multiple Logins with Same ID must be set to 1. If this parameter is changed, the VPN will not function properly.  For information on configuring multiple Dial-Up VPN Clients using the same IKE ID, refer to Configure Multiple NetScreen-Remote VPN Clients using the same IKE ID

Step six: Click to select Simple Identity, and in the IKE Identity text box, enter an IKE identity.

Note: In this example, we entered vpnuser@abc.com.

Step seven: Click OK.
