To ping the gateway IP address that is defined in the route to the remote firewall, perform the following steps:

From behind the local firewall, open the Command Prompt.

Enter ping [gateway ip address of the defined route of the remote firewall]; press ENTER.

note In this example, the gateway IP address defined in the route of the remote firewall is 210.1.1.2.
