Version: 1.0

Summary:
Network Connect, which is launched from Linux command line, is not compatible with Host Checker.

Problem or Goal:
When Linux clients try to launch NC from the CLI (using NC.jar), if either realm level or role level Host Checker is enabled on the IVE, then users cannot access the IVE, and NC launching fails.

The client reports errors similar to the following:
Searching for ncsvc in current working directory done
ncapp> Failed to connect/authenticate with IVE. Error 10
The IVE may report the following user access logs:
[172.27.12.57] test(realm)[] - Primary authentication successful for test/System Local from 172.27.12.57
[172.27.12.57] test(realm)[] - Password realm restrictions successfully passed for test/realm
Without Host Checker, it works well.

Solution:
Launch Network Connect only through the Internet browser on the supported Linux platforms.

For more information about the supported platforms, refer to the following: SA Supported Platforms

For additional information refer to KB15890 - Receiving authentication errors using NCLauncher/SAMLauncher if Host Checker (HC) / Cache Cleaner (CC) is enabled.

Purpose:
Configuration
Implementation
Interoperability
Troubleshooting
