[SRX] Junos Pulse IPsec connections fail to connect to a SRX device with the dynamic VPN feature

Summary:

When using Junos Pulse on Mac OS X , iOS, Android OS or Windows Mobile, attempts to create an IPsec tunnel to the SRX device via Dynamic-VPN fail. This article lists the client OS which are supported for Dynamic-VPN connections on SRX.

Problem or Goal:

When using Junos Pulse on Mac OS X , iOS, Android OS or Windows Mobile, attempts to create an IPsec tunnel to the SRX device via Dynamic-VPN fail with the following message being generated:

Connection Error:  Unable to communicate with the server. (Error:1110)

Cause:

Junos Pulse IPSec connections to an SRX via Dynamic-VPN support Windows Desktop OS clients only.

Junos Pulse and Junos Pulse for Mobile Devices on client OS, including Windows, Mac OS X , iOS and Android, Windows Mobile support connecting to SSL-VPN gateways.


Solution:

The following client OS are supported for Dynamic-VPN connections on SRX:


Junos Pulse
  • Vista (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Windows 8.0 (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Junos Access Manager
  • Windows XP 32-bit and 64-bit with any service pack
  • Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit with any service pack
  • Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit with any service pack (Junos 10.4 and above only)
