Step five: Enter the Syslog Host Name / Port.

Note: For this example, we have entered 192.168.1.2 as the Syslog Host Name. It is recommended to leave the Syslog port as the default, 514.

Step six: Click Apply.

Note: The SysLog facility is a storage location for accepting log messages. Messages can be sent to either Security Facility or Facility, and can be sent to one of 8 locations (LOCAL0 through LOCAL7, and Auth/Sec facilities). Security Facility will log any messages with the severity level of emergency and alert. Facility will log messages with levels of critical, error, warning, notification, information, and debugging.
