Synopsis

In situations where the tunnel is either not coming active or the traffic is not passing data, verify the Address Book entry is accurate.

Problem

A VPN policy is configured but, either the tunnel is not coming active or the traffic is not flowing as desired.

Solution

Step 1. Open the WebUI. For more information on accessing the WebUI, consult: KB4060 - Accessing Your NetScreen, SSG, or ISG Firewall Using the WebUI

Step 2. From the WebUI options menu, click Objects > Addresses > List.

Objects->Addresses->List

Step 3. Find the Address Book entry in question and click Edit.

Step 4. Verify that the IP Address and Subnet Mask are correct.  The circled address does not match the name indicating there might have been an error.  Correct any mistakes and test the VPN again.
