Synopsis
Does “Only Connect Manually” need to be configured in the Juniper NetScreen-Remote Client?
Problem
- The Juniper NetScreen-Remote VPN is not working.
- Multiple connections are configured and only one should be active at a time.
- Cannot connect when physically connected to the Corporate network
Solution
When Only Connect Manually is enabled, the NetScreen-Remote VPN user must manually connect or disconnect the VPN. When the Only Connect Manually check box is deselected for a specific connection, the client automatically initiates a secure session for this connection.
When the Only Connect Manually option is enabled, follow these steps to manually connect and disconnect:
- In the Windows system tray, right-click the client icon, point to Connect, and then click the connection name.
- To terminate the secure communications session, right-click the client icon, click Disconnect, and then click the connection name to end.
By default, the Only Connect Manually option is disabled.
When the PC, with the NetScreen-Remote Client, is on the Corporate Network, the NetScreen-Remote VPN Client needs to be deactivated.
