Synopsis:

J-Care Service contracts are activated using e-Certificates.   How do I determine the start date of my e-certificate?

Problem:

I activated my e-certificate 2 months after I purchased support and my start date does not reflect the date I activated the e-certificate to my serial number.

Solution:

J-Care contract start date for e-Certificates:

The start date of the contract is either the date of the e-Certificate activation or 30 days from the e-Certificate ship date, whichever comes first. The e-Certificate ship date is the same date as the e-Certificate Notification.

Example:

If you have an e-certificate and the order notification was sent on June 1, 2007 and you did not activate it until August 1st, 2007. The start date on the e-certificate will be July 1st , 2007 because after the first 30 days if the support has not been activated the contract begins after 30 days.
