This article will explain the differences between the two type of licenses Juniper sells.

There are two types of license keys available for the Juniper Firewall products.
- License or Static keys: are permanent keys and do not expire.
Example: Capacity Increase and Feature Upgrades
- Subscription keys: are annual licenses that need to be renewed yearly. Juniper offers 1 or 2 year subscriptions, maximum allowed is 2 years.
Example: Antivirus (AV), Deep Inspection (DI), Web Filtering, Anti-Spam, etc
