How can I generate a license key for my Juniper Product?

The following will describe where and how to generate license keys through the Licensing management system (LMS).
Problem:- I received an Authorization code and need to generate a license key for a feature to be enabled on a Secure Access (SSL VPN) device, Firewall, J-Series, WX, DX devices, or WX CMS.
- I need to generate a key for a replacement device.
To transfer licenses for a Replacement device, go to Generate Licenses for RMA devices
To generate keys for Firewall Subscription services, such as Anti-Virus updates, Anti-Spam updates, etc. go to KB9731 - How do I activate a subscription license for my firewall product?. Requirements for generating a license key:
- An account to access the Customer Support Center or Partner Center
If you do not have an account, go to: Create User Account - The Juniper Authorization Code Certificate / RTU Number. This information is sent via email after the license is purchased.
If you did not purchase the license or you did not receive this information, contact your reseller. - Serial Number or Hardware ID or RTU Number
- For the Secure Access (SSL VPN) product line - Use the device Licensing Hardware ID Number

- For Firewall products (NetScreen, ISG, SSG) - Use the device Serial Number
- For the Secure Access (SSL VPN) product line - Use the device Licensing Hardware ID Number

- WX Evaluation keys are generated by your Juniper Sales Engineer. Please contact them directly; if you do not have your Juniper Sales Engineer's details you can contact our Inside Sales Department at 1-866-298-6428.
To generate the license, follow the steps below:
- Log into LMS (License Management System) online tool which enables J-Partners and/or End Users to retrieve and activate product licenses: Manage Product Licenses .
- Select the appropriate Product Line from the drop down menu (for example Secure Access (SSL VPN)) and click “GO”
- Enter the Licensing Hardware ID / Serial Number / RTU and Authorization Code
For SSLVPN:
An Authorization Code can only be matched with one Licensing Hardware ID, and the license generated will only be valid for that one product. Once a license is generated, you will not be able to make any adjustments.
When generating license keys for Cluster pairs, use the Licensing Hardware ID of the primary unit to generate the user license (e.g. SA4000-ADD-100U) and feature licenses (e.g. SA4000-ADV), but, use the Licensing Hardware ID of the secondary unit for the clustering license (e.g. SA4000-CL-100U). - To retrieve the license key, either download it directly to your computer from the LMS tool or request the LMS tool to email the key.
- With the license key available, sign into your device to install the new key. For example, on the SSL VPN Secure Access device browse to System > Configuration > Licensing page to enter the key.
Possible errors while generating a license:
- Error: Invalid Number Combination
Solution: When creating the license for SSL VPN, use the Hardware ID instead of the RTU Serial Number. - Error: Used the wrong serial number with the Authorization Code
Solution: Open a case with Customer Care and include- Correct Serial Number
- Incorrect Serial Number entered
- Sales Order or Purchase Order number for the Authorization Code
- Error: Authorization code has already been used

To Open a case with Customer Care:
- Login to the Case Management tool via the Juniper support site at: Case Management and click on the "Create a Case" link, then choose the "Customer Care Case" radio button
