Problem:

The version of the Java Run-Time library included in affected versions of NSM software contains a flaw that can allow unauthorized modification of the local filesystem and execution of local programs. The Java RT issue is documented externally in CVE-2008-0657.
Solution:

The vulnerability has been fixed by upgrading the Java RT library in NSM software to an unaffected version, Java RT v1.6.0_14 or later. Fixed releases include 2009.1r1 and all subsequent releases.

This issue is being tracked as PR 428762. While this Problem Report may not be viewable by customers, it still can be used as a reference when discussing the issue with JTAC.

KB16765 - "In which releases are vulnerabilities fixed?" describes the releases that receive fixes for vulnerabilities per our End of Engineering and End of Life support policies.

Workaround:
Permit network access to only those hosts necessary for management.

A JTAC engineer will review your request and respond, ensuring that you will be provided with the most appropriate Patch Release for your specific situation.
