2018-01 Security Bulletin: ScreenOS: Etherleak vulnerability found on ScreenOS device (CVE-2018-0014)

This issue affects ScreenOS all.

Juniper Networks ScreenOS devices do not pad Ethernet packets with zeros, and thus some packets can contain fragments of system memory or data from previous packets. This issue is often detected as CVE-2003-0001.

The issue affects all versions of Juniper Networks ScreenOS prior to 6.3.0r25.

Juniper SIRT is not aware of any malicious exploitation of this vulnerability.

This issue was discovered during an external security research.

This issue is also known as Etherleak.

This issue has been assigned CVE-2018-0014.


The following software releases have been updated to resolve this specific issue: 6.3.0r25 and all subsequent releases.

This issue is being tracked as 1281648 which is visible on the Customer Support website.

Note: Juniper SIRT's policy is not to evaluate releases which are beyond End of Engineering (EOE) or End of Life (EOL).

There are no viable workarounds for this issue.
