Summary:
Syslog traffic from backup firewall in a NSRP Active/Passive cluster will fail if the Syslog server is across the VPN.
Symptoms:
Syslog traffic from backup firewall in a NSRP Active/Passive cluster will fail if the Syslog server is across the VPN.
Solution:
If the Syslog server is across a VPN, there is no way for Syslog traffic to go out from the backup firewall because the VPN tunnel is in Inactive state. The Syslog traffic will only work from the primary firewall thru the tunnel.
