[EOL/EOE] [NSM] How to reduce the bulk CLI device timeout value

How to reduce the bulk CLI device timeout value
Solution:

When NSM sends BULK CLI commands, it waits up to 40 minutes to receive response back from the device. In some cases 40 minutes may be too long given the customer firewall configuration size. In such cases customers can reduce this timeout to a lesser value for the timeout to occur with the results showing quickly for bulk CLI.

Follow below steps to reduce the BULK CLI timeout value to a desired number:

  1. Login to NSM server via SSH as user root.
  2. Edit the file /usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/var/be/cfg/devCommProp.cfg
  3. In this file search for ":bulk-cli-final-status-timeout (40)" and modify this line by replacing the "40" with a desire number for timeout. This timeout value is in minutes.
  4. Save the file
  5. Restart services by executing the commands "service guiSvr restart" and "service devSvr restart" (In case of H.A perform this change on both the servers and execute command "/etc/init.d/haSvr restart" for restarting services).
