Article ID: KB11059 KB Last Updated: 18 Mar 2021Version: 7.0
Summary:
Note: A product listed in this article has either reached hardware End of Life (EOL) OR software End of Engineering (EOE).  Refer to End of Life Products & Milestones for the EOL, EOE, and End of Support (EOS) dates.
The device update timeout value in NSM can be modified from the default value of 40 minutes.
Symptoms:

During an update, when NSM looses connection to a device, it takes up to 40 minutes before reporting an error.  How do I change the timeout setting?

Solution:

If a device update causes the connection between NSM server and device to break, NSM waits for 40 minutes before it reports error

This timeout can be changed by editing the file /usr/netscreen/DevSvr/var/be/cfg/devCommProp.cfg

  1. Login to NSM server CLI

  2. #vi  /usr/netscreen/DevSvr/var/be/cfg/devCommProp.cfg

  3. Look for    :bulk-cli-final-status-timeout (40)
    This value is in minutes

  4. Change the value, then save your changes.

  5. Restart the DevSvr Service in order for the new values to take effect.
