How to reset Web GUI admin password for JSA Series version 2014.X and later

This article describes how to reset the admin password for the Web GUI on a JSA Series device.


I lost the admin password and cannot to log in to JSA Series Web GUI using the admin user.


In JSA (Juniper Secure Analytics) Series releases version 2014.1 through version 2014.7, you can reset the admin user password for the Web GUI using the following steps:

  1. Login to JSA Series console using root credentials via SSH.

  2. Reset the admin password using the command:

    [root@JSA ~]# sh /opt/qradar/support/ -a
    Please enter the new admin password.
    Confirm password:
    The admin password has been changed. Please login to the UI with the new password and perform a deploy.

  3. Now, login to the JSA Series device web UI using the new password.

Starting with version 2014.8, you will need to restart the tomcat service post running the script.
