Article ID: KB12308 KB Last Updated: 06 Aug 2010Version: 2.0
DHCP Custom Option 2 allows you to configure GMT timezone, to be offered when a DHCP client requests an IP address.
DHCP Option 2 is commonly used for VoIP phones.
How do you configure it on the firewall?

DHCP Option 2, which allows you to configure time offset, is based on GMT.  To configure the GMT Timezone, configure DHCP Option 2 in seconds.

For example, to configure GMT -8, the DHCP Option 2 value is -8 hours * 3600 sec/hour = -28800.  The CLI configuration for this is as follows:

set interface bgroup0 dhcp server option custom 2 integer -28800
