[STRM] How to configure Juniper ScreenOS Firewall to send Syslogs to STRM

This article describes how to configure the Juniper ScreenOS Firewall to send Syslogs to the STRM.

Solution:

A Juniper firewall is auto-detected by the STRM; no configuration is necessary on the STRM.

Configuring a Juniper firewall from the CLI

  1. Log into the CLI.

  2. Enter the commands below (the IP Address of the STRM is assumed to be 172.19.47.201):

set syslog config "172.19.47.201"
set syslog config "172.19.47.201" facilities local0 local0
set syslog config "172.19.47.201" log traffic
set syslog enable


Configuring a Juniper firewall from the Web UI

  1. Log into the Web UI.

  2. Go to Configuration > Report Settings > Syslog.

  3. Select Enable syslog messages and enter the associated information (see sample below).

Configuring a Juniper firewall from NSM

  1. Edit the device in NSM.

  2. Go to Report Settings > Syslog.

  3. Add the syslog configuration as shown below.
