Summary:
How to configure the DMI agent settings on a JUNOS device
Solution:
When adding a JUNOS family device in NSM, the user has entered the device admin username and password as well as an OTP (shared secret). NSM then provides the device-ID which will be associated with that device.
  1. Log into the command line interface on the device
  2. Go to the edit mode in the command line interface
  3. Configure the device to connect to NSM. Execute the following CLI commands.
    set system services outbound-ssh client nsm device-id <device-id value from NSM>
    set system services outbound-ssh client nsm secret <one-time-password entered in NSM>
    set system services outbound-ssh client nsm <primary DevSvr IP> port 7804
    set system services outbound-ssh client nsm <secondary DevSvr IP> port 7804
    set system services outbound-ssh client nsm services netconf
    commit
    exit
  4. The device will immediately attempt to connect to NSM.
  5. Confirm the configuration using either of the following commands:
    > show configuration system services outbound-ssh
    client nsm {
    device-id E07A7B;
    secret "$ABC123"; ## SECRET-DATA
    services netconf;
    172.19.47.157 port 7804;
    }


    > show configuration system services outbound-ssh | display set
    set system services outbound-ssh client nsm device-id E07A7B
    set system services outbound-ssh client nsm secret "$ABC123"
    set system services outbound-ssh client nsm services netconf
    set system services outbound-ssh client nsm 172.19.47.157 port 7804
