[Archive] Can I configure an ISG device running ScreenOS 6.2–IDP to inspect data containing IPv6 addresses?

Article ID: KB14096 KB Last Updated: 09 Jan 2020Version: 2.0
Summary:

Can I configure an ISG device running ScreenOS 6.2–IDP to inspect data containing IPv6 addresses?

Solution:

In NSM 2008.2, ISG devices running ScreenOS 6.2–IDP can now be configured to inspect data containing IPv6 addresses.  A new keyword "Any-IPv6" has been added to the IDP and firewall policies. In the context of source and destination addresses, the previous keyword "Any" will be treated as "Any-IPv4" on the device. You can continue to configure policies for IPv4 addresses.

To enable IPv6 functionality, set the environment variable IPv6 on the device to "yes" and then reboot the device. Since NSM does not manage environment variables, this cannot be set in NSM. The Any-IPv6 functionality is supported on ISG family devices running ScreenOS 6.2-IDP and later.
