[ScreenOS] SNMP traps are not being sent from the firewall

Summary:
Not seeing SNMP traps. Traps are not being sent
Symptoms:

Solution:
SNMP traps can be sent for Emergency, Alert and Critical level events. In order for the SNMP traps to be sent, check that the following are all configured:
  • A SNMP community must be set up.
    See KB4714 for more information about Setting up SNMP Management.

  • SNMP must be enabled on the interface
  • See KB4118 for more information.

  • The level of alert needs to be selected to be sent. To check which level of events are set to send traps do the following:

    1. Click Configuration
    2. Click Report Settings
    3. Click Log Settings
    a. Click the level of events next to SNMP that are to send traps.
