Collecting a 'get tech' from the WebUI (Get Technical Data From Device)

Article ID: KB14498 KB Last Updated: 26 Jun 2009Version: 1.0
For most troubleshooting issues, JTAC requests the 'get tech' output from the firewall which includes various diagnostic information.  This is a command that is run from the CLI, but the same information can be collected more easily from the firewall's WebUI.

Beginning in ScreenOS version 5.4, a 'get tech' file can be collected from the firewall's WebUI as follows:
  1. From the Navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen, select Help --> Ask Support.
  2. Then click the 'Get Tech' button.  This will open a dialog where you can select where to save the 'get tech' file.
