How to reconfigure replication Steel-Belted Radius replica server

Article ID: KB14662 KB Last Updated: 08 Mar 2017Version: 6.0

Certain situations may require you to re-do replication on one of your REPLICA SBR servers. If the IP address of the PRIMARY SBR server changes, you will need to reset replication on each REPLICA SBR server.

This is also a good way to resolve replication issues in many cases.
In order to re-do the replication on the replica server follow these steps:
  1. From the command window (Start > Run > cmd) navigate to your radius service directory.
  2. Stop the SBR service (net stop "Steel-Belted Radius")
  3. Type sbrsetuptool –identity SA
  4. Start the SBR service (net start "Steel-Belted Radius")
  5. Stop the SBR service
  6. Type sbrsetuptool –install –path “c:\radius\service” –identity REPLICA –primary <name of primary> <IP of primary> <replication secret of primary>. For the path, use the path where your SBR service directory is located.
  7. Start the SBR service.
