[ScreenOS] Are NetScreen devices 802.3ad compliant?

0

0

Article ID: KB14751 KB Last Updated: 25 Mar 2020Version: 6.0
Summary:

This article explains if the NetScreen devices are 802.3ad or LACP compliant or not.

Symptoms:
When I configure aggregate ports on a ScreenOS system device -- NS-5200, NS-5400, ISG-1000, ISG-2000, can I enable any 802.3ad or other LACP protocols on the firewall?
Solution:
None of the NetScreen firewalls are 802.3ad/LACP compliant.

The NetScreen 5000 and ISG series firewalls support aggregate port configuration without LCAP/.802.3ad option. Since LACP/802.3ad is not supported on NetScreen firewalls, disable the same of the peer device when configuring for port aggregation.

They have successfully been tested for aggregate port link interoperability with Cisco, Foundry, Alteon, and Riverstone devices.

For port aggregation details, refer to: KB12222 - [ScreenOS] How to configure port aggregation.

Modification History:
