How do I retrieve my IDP license on an SRX device using the CLI?

Symptoms:

IDP licenses on the SRX platform are a Subscription-based license.

For instructions on how to activate subscription license for SRX, refer to KB16675 - SRX Getting Started - Install license for Antivirus, Web Filter, IDP, or Antispam

Solution:

To retrieve your IDP subscription license, please make sure you have applied your IDP subscription authorization code to your SRX serial number using the Juniper Agile Licensing.

Ensure your device has internet connectivity, and access the CLI. From the CLI run the following command:

request system license update

The unit will retrieve its license with the entitled dates from the server. You must reset the device after the key has been loaded.
