This article describes a way to disable automatic reboot of the ScreenOS firewall in the event of an error or failure during an update through NSM.

This is especially useful if you do not want the firewall to reboot if there is an error during update through NSM.

Symptoms:

Is there a way to disable automatic reboot of the firewall in case update of the firewall through NSM fails with errors?

Solution:

Perform the following steps (also referred to as the 'atomic update' feature):

  1. Login to NSM.

  2. Go to the device that you want.

  3. Go to Report Settings.

  4. Go to Events

  5. Check the box for 'Disable reboot in case of error' under the 'Atomic Updating' section.

  6. Click apply.
