[STRM] How to collect debug information from ALE (Adaptive Log Exporter) client

Article ID: KB16559 KB Last Updated: 15 Sep 2011Version: 2.0
Adaptive Log Exporter (ALE) is used to forward logs from windows servers to STRM.  Sometimes the ALE service need to be put in debug mode to collect logs for troubleshooting.
How to collect debug logs from ALE

ALE Logs are by default collected in non-debug level - these logs are located in C:\Program files\Adaptive Log Exporter\logs\ folder

To enable the debug logging:

  1. Edit the file C:\Program Files\Adaptive Log Exporter\config\logconfig.txt
  2. Change all the log4j.category.Code=INFO to be log4j.category.Code=DEBUG
  3. Restart ALE service. This will send a lot of information to the log files
