[SSL VPN/MAG/UAC] How to collect the log file from Junos Pulse on desktops

Summary:

This article provides information on how to collect logs from Junos Pulse for troubleshooting client desktops.

Symptoms:

Junos Pulse enables secure authenticated network connections to protected resources and services over local and wide area networks. The interface is entirely new and this article provides information on how to collect Junos Pulse logs from client desktops.

Cause:

Solution:

To collect the log file, perform the following procedure:

  1. Go to Start > Programs > Juniper Networks > Junos Pulse and click Junos Pulse, if it is not running already,  or double-click the Junos Pulse icon from the system tray. The following image illustrates the Junos Pulse icon in the system tray:

     

  2. The following image illustrates the Junos Pulse interface. This example displays two connections - bng-connect-wx and wx2; out of which the active one at the moment is bng-connect-wx.  It also shows that WAN Optimization is enabled. Users can click the arrow to see more information about the connections:

     

  3. Click the Junos Pulse icon (highlighted in a red box in the below image). Then, go to Logs > Log level and change the log level to Detailed. Replicate the issue and then click Save As to save the log file, which contains information from all modules, such as SA, UAC, and WX.
