[Archive][Dynamic VPN] Access Manager client gets 'Failed to get HTTP Response' error

Article ID: KB17336 KB Last Updated: 29 Dec 2014Version: 3.0

When trying to connect the Access Manager client to the SRX, the status connection result message shows "Failed to get HTTP Response".

  • Dynamic VPN client is not connecting to the SRX. The Connection Status in the Juniper Networks Access Manager window reports the Connection Result: "Failed to get HTTP Response":

This problem may occur if the client who is running Access Manager, does not gracefully disconnect from the VPN connection (either by yanking it from the network, shutting down the PC without disconnecting, or a power failure).  The client connection may be disconnected, but on the SRX, the connection was not cleared out gracefully.

This error can be corrected by performing the following actions:

Delete the following file:
root@srx> file delete /var/db/dynamic-vpn-ipsec/tokens-info

Restart the web-management process:
root@srx> restart web-management

This problem is completely resolved in 10.2R4, 10.3R4, 10.4R3 and above.
