Article ID: KB17455 KB Last Updated: 29 Dec 2014Version: 5.0
Summary:

When trying to connect the Access Manager client to the SRX, the status connection result message shows 'No configuration for user'.

Symptoms:

 Symptoms:

  • The error message 'No configuration for user' is reported when a Dynamic VPN user attempts to login and connect to the SRX

Cause:

Solution:

The 'No configuration for user' error has been fixed in Junos 10.0r2 (and above) and Junos 10.1r2 (and above).  JTAC strongly recommends upgrading to a version which has the fix.

Here is a work-around if you see this problem.

step1  Verify that a Dynamic VPN access-profile exists for every user (Step 4 of the Dynamic VPN application note).  In order to confirm the access-profile configuration, refer to KB17437.

step2  Access the Unix shell from the operational command line. (The prompt will change from a > to a %.)

Note:  The following steps require you to have root access to the SRX device.

user@srx> start shell
user@srx%

step3  Remove the tokens-info file:

user@srx% rm -rf /var/db/dynamic-vpn-ipsec/tokens-info

If this file does not exist, then upgrade to Junos 10.0r2 or greater or Junos 10.1r2 or greater.
If this file does not exist and you are already running Junos 10.0r2 or greater or Junos 10.1r2 or greater, continue with Step 4.

step4   Exit the shell:

user@srx% exit

step5  Restart the web-management process:

user@srx> restart web-management

If the problem persists and you have upgraded to Junos 10.0r2 or greater or Junos 10.1r2 or greater as instructed above then gather the information listed in KB21781 - [SRX] Data Collection Checklist - Logs/data to collect for troubleshooting and open a case with your technical support representative.
