NSM - How to download the built in NSM Client software from the NSM GUI Server.

Article ID: KB17706 KB Last Updated: 22 Sep 2010Version: 2.0
The NSM GUI server comes with the client installers built in.  This article describes where they are so they can be downloaded to a workstation.
  • NSM GUI Server upgraded but the client UI was not.
  • Client workstation with access to NSM server, but no access to the Internet, needs to download and install the UI client.
The NSM GUI Server comes with both a Linux and a Windows client installer.

To download either client to your workstation, SSH to the NSM server CLI.  Once accessed, use WinSCP or other secure copy software to copy the required installer from the GUI server to the workstation.

The Windows installer is located at:

The Linux installer is located at:

A sample SCP command from a Linux workstation might look like:
scp root@<your nsm server ip address>:/usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/lib/webproxy/webapps/download/installers/linux/install.bin .

The above command does end with a dot (.)

If your NSM server is NSMXpress, change the "root" in the above command to "admin" like this:
scp admin@<your nsm server ip address>:/usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/lib/webproxy/webapps/download/installers/linux/install.bin .

Using WinSCP, simply connect to the NSM server, navigate to the above mentioned directory and then drag the install.exe file to the machine within the WinSCP window.

The client install files are also available via HTTPS download directly from the NSM XPress server at the following URL, based on platform:
  • https://server.ip.address <-- for NSMXp and NSM3k
