LLDP MIB does not update RemManAddr if address is changed

Article ID: KB18309 KB Last Updated: 30 Nov 2010Version: 1.0
Summary:
When changing lldp management-address before the inet interface, the SNMP MIB will not be updated correctly on Remote station (lldpRemManAddr).

Symptoms:
When changing the lldp management-address, before changing the L3 address on the physical port, snmp on the remote switch does not update correctly even though the cli "show lldp neighbors interface ge-0/0/0" sees the updated lldp remote management address.

Toplogy :

EX-Switch1(Local)=====ge-0/0/0=====EXSwitch2(Remote)

Local Switch1:

{master:1}[edit]

}
}

{master:1}[edit]
juniper@Wade-ASP# run show snmp mib walk lldpMIB |match lldpLocManAddr

lldpLocManAddrLen.1.10.203.203.1 = 5                                                                            <<<<< Local address change good
lldpLocManAddrIfSubtype.1.10.203.203.1 = 2

lldpLocManAddrIfId.1.10.203.203.1 = 240
lldpLocManAddrOID.1.10.203.203.1 = ifName.240

Now go to the remote switch to see what it received as Switch1's management address:

Switch2
