Summary:

This article provides information about the support extended by SRX Branch series devices for Track-IP (IP Monitoring with route or interface failover).

Symptoms:

Track-IP with IP Monitoring with route failover is available for SRX100, SRX110, SRX210, SRX220, SRX240, SRX550, and SRX650 platforms as of Junos OS Release 11.2.

Track-IP with IP Monitoring with interface enabling/disabling is available for SRX100, SRX110, SRX210, SRX220, SRX240, SRX550, and SRX650 platforms as of Junos OS Release 12.1X44.

Solution:
A SLAX script is also available, which can be used to simulate the track-ip functionality. It allows for path and next-hop validation via the existing network infrastructure with the ICMP protocol. When a failure is detected, the script will execute a failover to the other node in an attempt to prevent downtime. For more information, see the following link:
