How to add Custom CST attributes to CoA/DM message with SBR Carrier AAA

Article ID: KB21144 KB Last Updated: 04 Mar 2017Version: 2.0
This Article is intended to help map a previously configured custom CST field to a CoA/DM request. This applies to all Cluster versions of SBR 5.5 HA and SBR Carrier. 7.2.and 7.3
You have added a custom field to the CST as per the Juniper Networks® Steel-Belted Radius® Carrier Administration and Configuration Guide - Release 7.3.1 and want to  map that value in a CoA/DM message.

After adding the attribute to the Sbr_CurrentSessions table in the SSR, you will need to add the new field to the Dbc_mapping.xml file located in the radius directory and tie it to a valid radius attribute.
<attributeMapping field="New_CST_field" attribute="Radius-attribute-name">
Once this is set, you need to restart radius and verify. To verify, you need to start a session for a user that will use the new attribute and query that session with the scscli by running the following command:
./ -authuser <username> -authpass <password> -p 1814 -rootca root/autoGeneratedRoot.cer -m query -u "<username>"

This should include the new field in the output.
