Summary:
This article describes the issue of NSM GUI client not loading when connecting to a workstation as a remote desktop.
Symptoms:
NSM GUI client loading Issues when connecting to a workstation as a remote desktop.
Solution:
This isssue occurs due to certain desktop sessions, having limited Java heap size, being unable to load the client.

  1. Go to C:\Program Files\Network and Security Manager.

  2. Edit the NSM.lax file and modify the heap size to the following values:

    Change:

    lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.initial=48m

    to

    lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.initial=64m

    Change:

    lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.max=768m

    to:

    lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.max=1100m to 1536m (Depends on the Java heap size of the device).
