[EOL/EOE] [NSM] Unable to delete the policy from GUI - error message : Unable to delete policy, check errorlog

This article describes the issue of being unable to delete the policy from the NSM GUI. The error message being displayed - Unable to delete policy, check errorlog.

When the policy object is being deleted, the NSM GUI indicates that the policy is not assigned to any device and is safe to delete; however the Unable to delete policy, check errorlog error message is displayed.
Undeleted references at the backend.
On the NSM GUI, go to policy manager and open the policy that is not being deleted:
  1. Create a new rule base in the policy.

  2. Delete all other rule bases and rules in the policy.

  3. Save the policy and now try to delete the policy.

If the policy deletion still fails, open a case with JTAC.
