[EX] How to halt the line cards with single RE on EX8200

This article provides information on how to halt the line cards with single RE on EX8200.
When EX8200 is required to halt, due to some reasons, there are several different ways to accomplish this, as per the version.


Previous version of 10.0R4:

  1. > request chassis fpc offline slot <slot-num>

  2. > request system halt
At first, It needs to halt the line cards.

From version 10.0R4 to 10.4R2:

  1. > request system halt power-off fpc
The power-off fpc command can be used from the following versions:

  10.0R4, 10.1R4, 10.2R3, 10.3R2, 10.4R1, and 11.1R1.

From version 10.4R3 and later:

  1. > request system halt
The line cards will be halted immediately, when the RE is halted. This modification change is available from the following versions:

10.4R3 and 11.1R1
