Article ID: KB22508 KB Last Updated: 18 Mar 2013Version: 3.0
Summary:
This article describes the issue of many system critical events being generated in get event.
Symptoms:
Find out why there are system crit 00081 Cannot allocate 134217744 bytes of memory logs in get event.
Cause:
This issue's root cause is that there are many fragments in memory. When AV scan requests the required memory size, there are not enough memory blocks for use; so it will print to the event log.
Solution:
There are 2 ways to fix the issue:

  • Upgrade to 6.3R7 or later version; ScreenOS uses the new AV engine after the 6.3R7 release.

  • Decrease the AV maximum content size (set av scan-mgr max-content-size XXX); you can try decreasing this value to check if this resolves the issue.
