[M-series] How to enable load balancing on the MPLS aggregate AE interface

0

Article ID: KB22635 KB Last Updated: 05 Mar 2017Version: 2.0
Summary:
This article provides information on how to enable load balancing on the MPLS aggregate AE interface.
Symptoms:
In MPLS scenarios, after creating an aggregate AE interface, the load can be pushed to one of the two interfaces and it is not shared equally.
Cause:
When using the MPLS Hash key, you need to enable additional configuration.
Solution:
To allow both the links to be used equally, you need to include the following statement in the configuration.
> set forwarding-options hash-key family mpls payload ether-pseudowire
This should load balance equally on the links, which are inside the Aggregate AE interface. In MPLS Ethernet pseudowires, only one or two MPLS labels are included in the hash key calculation.
