Log messages will show the following logs:
Nov 16 00:38:20 ljaco-core-01 /kernel: poe0: <POE> on i2c0
Nov 16 00:38:45 ljaco-core-01 chassism[986]: PoE: PoE module in error state
This is expected behavior where certain EX platforms do not support PoE with DC power. Please see
Hardware Documentation Guide for each platform for confirmation.
The DC power supply in the switch does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE); you can use either an external power injector or an AC power supply to supply power to PoE devices that you connect to the switch.
This does not require an RMA and is expected. For further questions please contact
Juniper Technical Assistance Center (JTAC) for additional details.
