[SBR] How to upload the correct .der format certificate

Article ID: KB23058 KB Last Updated: 08 Mar 2017Version: 4.0
This article provides information on how to upload the correct .der format certificate.
  • The SBR device was upgraded from 5.4 to 6.x and it was unable to upload the .DER certificate.

  • The certificate in .crt is not being uploaded and the Trusted Root certificate must be of type der error message is generated.
At times, SBR 5.4 certificates are saved in the .DER format, which is not accepted by the newer versions.

Error message: Trusted Root certificate must be of type der

To resolve this issue, perform the following procedure:

  1. Select Folder Options and clear the Hide extensions for known file type option.

  2. Change the root cert extension from .DER to .der (for example: Rootca.DER to Rootca.der).

  3. Upload this certificate and it will be successfully completed.
