Article ID: KB23081 KB Last Updated: 18 Apr 2013Version: 2.0
Summary:
This article describes the issue of the sfchip_show_rates_pfe: Fchip Plane 0, dpc 0, pfe 1: Invalid dpc error messages being generated on a SRX3000 device.
Symptoms:
When the Request Support Information is pulled from a SRX3000 device, the sfchip_show_rates_pfe: Fchip Plane 0, dpc 0, pfe 1: Invalid dpc error messages are noticed in the /var/log/chassisd file.
Cause:

Solution:
When the Request Support Information is pulled from the SRX 3000 device, the following messages  appear in the chassisd log file:
Feb 10 07:42:46 sfchip_show_rates_pfe: Fchip Plane 0, dpc 0, pfe 1: Invalid dpc

Feb 10 07:42:46 sfchip_show_rates_pfe: Fchip Plane 0, dpc 0, pfe 2: Invalid dpc

Feb 10 07:42:46 sfchip_show_rates_pfe: Fchip Plane 0, dpc 0, pfe 3: Invalid dpc

These are not errors. They are only false alarms and will be fixed soon. When the RSI is requested, the show chassis fabric statistics 0 fpc totals command, which is part of the RSI, is executed. This command obtains the fabric statistics.

SRX5000 devices have multiple PFEs; but SRX3000 devices have only one PFE(PFE0). When this command is executed on a SRX3000 device, the command looks for the other PFEs, which do not exist and generates the errors.

These are only cosmetic in nature and do not have any impact on the traffic or performance.
