Article ID: KB23090 KB Last Updated: 08 Mar 2017Version: 3.0
Summary:
This article describes the issue of the SBR version being displayed as Enterprise Edition, even though the Global Enterprise Edition license is installed.
Symptoms:
The SBR version is displayed as Enterprise Edition, even though the Global Enterprise Edition license is installed; It even shows the old evaluation period.

Cause:

Solution:
If SBR is repeatedly installed or a backup is in the SBR directory, there will be several Service directories in the SBR folder. By default, the directory in which SBR is installed is C:\Program Files\Juniper Networks\Steel-Belted Radius\Service.

If you have not installed the GEE (Global Enterprise Edition) license, perform the following procedure:

  1. In the service directory, look for the Radius.lic file and open it in Notepad.

  2. Search for the key; if it is the old key, remove it and replace it with the GEE key.

  3. Save the file and restart the SBR service.

  4. SBR will now display the GEE license.

If you have installed the GEE license and it is still not displayed, perform the following procedure:

  1. Remove the radius.lic file from any other directory, apart from the default Service directory.

  2. In the default Service directory, delete the radius.lic file and create a new one:

    1. Open the newly created radius.lic file via Notepad.

    2. Mention only the GEE license (or the required license).

    3. Save the file in the default SBR service directory.

    4. Restart the SBR service.

  3. SBR will now display the correct edition.
