Article ID: KB23127 KB Last Updated: 08 Mar 2017Version: 3.0
Summary:
This article describes the issue of Admin users, who are mentioned in the access.ini file, not being assigned the required privileges.
Symptoms:
Admin users, who are assigned in the access.ini file, are assigned only read access (r); but are able to get write access as well.
Cause:

Solution:
Note: If you are upgrading the SBR version, copy and paste the old access.ini and admin.ini files, which are customized by you and then restart the service.

Please check the following:

  1. The user should be mentioned under the [user] section in the access.ini file.

  2. If the user is assigned an [<access-level>], it should be mentioned in the access.ini file. This access-level should be assigned read rights or desired rights.

If everything is correct in the configuration, then check the following:
  1. If the mentioned user is a domain user, check whether the user is available, working, and allocated to the correct group on the Domain Controller.

  2. Check if there is more than one [user] section in access.ini:

If so, edit them under one [user] section:

  3. Make sure that the same Admin user is not mentioned under the Administrator section of the SBR Admin GUI. If so, this will override the access.ini file and provide full rights to the Admin user.

  4. Save the files and re-start the SBR service; the required access will be configured for the users.
