Summary:
This article describes the issue of nsSubSlotld errors being generated, when importing NS.chassis.mib into certain SNMP/MIB management tools.
Symptoms:
The import of NS.Chassis.mib, into SNMP/MIB management tools, can fail due to errors in the MIB files. This is applicable to 6.1.0, 6.2.0, and 6.3.0 ScreenOS MIBs.

For SNMPv2 ScreenOS MIBs:

The import of NS.chassis.mib can fail due to the wrong definition in the file. The error is in the following line of the SNMPv2 NS-CHASSIS.mib file:
ERROR : Cannot find symbol
file:///var/opt/OV/shared/nnm/user-snmp-mibs/./NS-CHASSIS.mib:233:34:nsSubSlotId
Cause:
This issue might be due to nsSubSlotId having no definition in the NS-CHASSIS.mib file.
Solution:
Delete the following highlighted line in the MIB file:
nsSlotEntry OBJECT-TYPE
SYNTAX NsSlotEntry
MAX-ACCESS not-accessible
STATUS current
DESCRIPTION
"Information describing one installed module and its status"
INDEX { nsSlotId,
nsSubSlotId } < delete this line
::= { nsSlotTable 1 }
nsSlotEntry OBJECT-TYPE
SYNTAX NsSlotEntry
