This article describes the maximum value of the Hardware and Hardware 64-bit counters that can be reached in the output of get counter statistics interface <interface name>, before being rolled back to zero.
What is the maximum value of the Hardware and Hardware 64-bit counters and how it is calculated, before being roll backed to zero.

The Output of following command contains the Hardware 64-bit and Hardware counters:
get counter statistics interface <interface name>
The Hardware and Hardware 64-bit counters of the specified interface reach the maximum value and then resets to zero. The values for 32 bits (Hardware counters) and 64 bits(Hardware 64-bit) are:

  • 32-bit = 2^32-1 = 4294967295

  • 64-bit = 2^64-1 = 18446744073709551615
