How much traffic can the Mykonos Web Security (MWS) Appliance handle?

Article ID: KB24333 KB Last Updated: 23 Oct 2012Version: 3.0
How much traffic can each MWS handle individually, and how many can I run in a cluster?
An individual MWS is specified to handle up to 800mb/sec of aggregate traffic with up to 11,500 requests per second through the Appliance.   MWS Appliances can be clustered in a Master / Traffic Processor configuration to increase total throughput.  While adding nodes increases maximum throughput, the scale is not quite linear.  Ultimate cluster size is dependent on network architecture and the maximum capacity of the Master MWS.
