Summary:
This article provides information about the Bonded MAC Authentication security feature in SmartPass.

Information about the Bonded MAC Authentication security feature.
Cause:

Solution:
On SmartPass, Bonded MAC Authentication is a security feature that binds user authentication to MAC authentication.

  1. On SmartPass, go to Users > Create User:



    1. In the Account Name field, type a user name.

    2. From the User Type drop-down menu, select an option; as required.

    3. In the Password and Re-enter Password fields, type the password for the user.

    4. In Advanced Settings, select Bonded MAC Authentication from the Authentication Type drop-down menu.

    5. In the MAC Address field, type the MAC address of the user.
SmartPass, via the Bonded MAC Authentication feature, authenticates the particular user, if requests are received from the specified MAC address.

Note: Do not select the 'Bonded Authentication(TM)' check box.
